Students seeking admission to Our Lady of Lourdes School of Nursing
must apply to BOTH Camden
County College and Our Lady of Lourdes School of Nursing. All
applicants are examined based on the admission requirements for
Our Lady of Lourdes School of Nursing below.
Per New Jersey Board of Nursing N. J. A. C. 13:37-1.8 "Before an
individual is admitted to a nursing education program, the program
shall inform the individual that a criminal history background check
is a prerequisite for licensure as a registered nurse or a licensed
practical nurse."

Admission Criteria

General Admission Requirements
|
- Graduation and official transcript from an approved USA high
school or Government Equivalency Diploma (GED). Grades of "C"
of better in all subjects including math, lab chemistry, and lab
biology.
- Graduation in the upper half of the high school graduating
class.
- Two letters of reference from educators or employers.
- SAT combined score of 900 or ACT score of 19 is recommended.
- Successful completion of College Placement Test administered
by Camden County College.
- A personal interview scheduled by the school.
- A GPA of 2.5 in college courses submitted for evaluation and
maintained for enrollment in Nursing I.
- Students with college credits for transfer must submit an official
transcript(s) to Camden County College and the School of Nursing.
The School of Nursing will recognize only courses evaluated and
transferred to Camden County College.
- All students are expected to possess a working knowledge of
computer applications, which will permit/support production of
a word-processed document and the ability to locate and retrieve
information from Internet sources.
- Nurse Entrance Test (NET) scores of 60% or better in both Math
and Reading. Call Camden County College (856.227-7200 ext. 4180)
to make an appointment to take the test.

Applicants Already Enrolled in College
|
- Students enrolled in college at the time of application should
meet the general admission requirements above.
- Performance in college level courses is an important consideration
in the admission decision. A minimum grade of "C" and cumulative
GPA of at least 2.5, in completed courses required for Our Lady
of Lourdes School of Nursing, are necessary.
- Students with college transfer credits must submit an
official transcript(s). The School of Nursing will recognize only
courses evaluated and transferred by Camden County College. No
transfer credit is given for nursing courses taken at other schools.
- It is the student's responsibility to see that credits
are transferred.

International Applicants
|
- World Education Service evaluation of high school transcript
for USA high school equivalency.
- Completion of Lab Chemistry and Lab Biology at the high school
or college level with a "C" or better.
- TOEFL EXAM scores of at least 560 on the written examination,
or 220 computerized examination.
- Two letters of reference from educators or employers.
- Successful completion of College Placement Test administered
by Camden County College.
- A personal interview scheduled by the school.
- Nurse Entrance Test (NET) scores of 60% or better in both Math

All Applicants
|
- A college GPA of 2.5 or higher is required in Our Lady of Lourdes School of Nursing prerequisite courses prior to entering Nursing 1. (See curriculum plan in CCC Course catalog or www.ololnursing.com)
- A grade of "D" or lower is not accepted for Our Lady of Lourdes School of Nursing required courses.
- Introduction to Nursing is a prerequisite to Nursing I and is open to all CCC students at any time. This course may be taken prior to application to the program.
All students must be CPR certified (BLS for Healthcare Professionals) before beginning Nursing I and must maintain the currency of certification throughout the program.

When to Apply

All prospective applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as they meet the admission requirements. High School students should apply early in their senior year.
|
Earned Degree
|
|
Camden County College provides the general education courses. . The School of Nursing offers all of the nursing and related courses, as well as the clinical practice. This provides 83 credits for the student to earn an Associate Degree in Science from Camden County College and a Diploma in Nursing from Our Lady of Lourdes School of Nursing. Graduates of the cooperative program are eligible to take the professional licensing exam (NCLEX-RN.)
