Our Lady of Lourdes School of Nursing General Policies
Alcohol & Illegal Drugs
Our Lady of Lourdes School of Nursing complies with the Drug Free Schools and Campuses Act. The policy is reviewed annually with the students and faculty. A copy of the policy can be found in the Student Handbook and Faculty Manual.
Smoking
The Lourdes Health System maintains a "Smoke-Free" environment. This
means smoking is Not permitted on any of its campuses; this
includes the School of Nursing.
Conduct
of Students
All students accepted into the Cooperative Nursing Program of Our Lady of Lourdes School of Nursing and Camden County College acknowledge with their enrollment that they are students of both institutions and that they have the obligation to abide by the regulations and policies as indicated by faculty, administration, and the Boards of Trustees of both institutions. Students are expected to maintain the highest standard of conduct at all times. Any student exhibiting unbecoming conduct will be dismissed immediately. Each student must respect the rights and privileges of all faculty and students.

Applicants to the school of nursing must have the ability to satisfactorily
meet the cognitive, physical and emotional requirements of the nursing
curriculum.
Harassment/Sexual Assault Policy
Our Lady of Lourdes School of Nursing aims to provide an environment for its faculty and students which is free from harassment. Policies and procedures for filing harassment complaints are available through the Dean. The campus sexual assault victim's Bill of Rights is distributed annually to the students via the Camden County College Student Handbook.
School Closings: 559 & 2559
When inclement weather poses a hazard for students to travel to school, the major Philadelphia radio stations will announce the school's "Snow Day" numbers:
"559" is the number used for morning/afternoon sessions canceled.
"2559" is the number used for evening classes (i.e., 5:20 10:30P) canceled.
The School of Nursing does not recognize "Late Starts." Clinical and Class begin at the regular scheduled time.
Security
The Security Department of Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center provides for the safety of Our Lady of Lourdes School of Nursing students when they are on the Medical Center campus.
Security is provided on a twenty four (24) hour basis and includes the Medical Center, School of Nursing, and all parking areas and campus. The Security Department, through its mobile patrol, foot patrol and investigation, enforces the rules & regulations of the Medical Center.
All illegal activity occurring on the campus must be reported to Security immediately (757 3743/5266). All emergencies are to be reported through the code system (dial 11.) All incidents are to be reported to the Security Supervisor/In Charge Officer via beeper number 3003. Safety Reports are to be completed and received by Risk Management within twenty four (24) hours of the incident.
The Camden City Police Department and /or other appropriate agencies will be notified immediately by Security of illegal incidents. Security officers are to hold perpetrators in custody until the appropriate agency(s) arrive.
The Security Department provides the School with the security statistics
for the Medical Center campus, identification badges, parking arrangements,
and fire and safety programs.
Children on Campus
Child Care is available through Camden County College and/or Angel's Alley Child Care Center located on the Campus of Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center. (Phone: 856-365-7961).
